Check your pins and pads

Post by Gardner »

This last spring I noticed one of the caliper pins on the SS was hanging out a bit more than it should.
I popped the cover off and found that the small center pin was rattling around on top of the rotor and pads!
Checked the fronts and found a pad had sheared off the steel backing plate but was still in between the rotor and piston.
Kinda makes you stare off into the horizon and think about when you were going 80mph in heavy truck traffic on the interstate.
I'm running without the covers now so I can do a quick check before riding. Hopefully no debris finds it's way in.

I think you can sleep ok. The Goldline range never had any covers in the first place, and I haven't heard of anyone having had problems (and I haven't had any either ... 8) )
