Veglia Speedo Question

Post by gt94stang »

How do I remove the trip reset knob so that I can get the gauge out of the dash on my 1974 GT? I tried just pulling but it didn't seem to want to budge and I don't want to break it.

Thanks

Thanks Steve,

I tried that too, but turning it left just makes the whole assembly turn. Might be something messed up inside.

Yup been there too, My veglia is I a GT panel would have been easier in a GTS cup, I pushed the speedo out of the panel as much as possible and then prized off the chrome bezel(its been off and on a couple of times) and glass then it was possible to grip the reset shaft with long nosed pliers, I may have had to remove the needle and dial before gripping the shaft and unscrewing the knob, the shaft lock is quite weak and easily overcome if you use Loctite to stop the knob from auto unscrewing, I used some permatex on the knob thread on reassembly its supposed to be non setting.
