F1 battery tray

Post by Sumfun4me »

Does anyone have an original 750F1 rubber batttery tray that they would like to get rid of. If so, PM me & we will work something out.

Yes, I gave Ian a call - he was able to get me the battery holder with the steel pins, but no tray.

If it looks like the rubber tray in my Mille, it wouldn't be to hard to make something yourself....??

I'm working on a concourse restoration & would ideally like to get hold of an original tray. I've managed to get some good photo's of the original from one of the forum members but dont have an original sample to work with.

Why not contact Bevel Rubber in Victoria and see if they are intersted in adding it to what they make.

I'm pretty sure that any company that would be interested in making these would require a physical sample to start with, which I dont have.

Other than the rectangle in the middle it seems you are describing the tray fitted on all the non elec. start twins. The one I have has two round holes in it. They were equipped with the 12n12a 4 batteries and the rubber is sized to fit the battery. The difference in the hole in the middle is probably due to different suppliers and unlkely to be a model specific requirement.

From what I've been able to discover so far, there are at least 3 different trays:

069838830 - Ducati Bevel Drive Twins 750 - 900 GT, S, SS, GTS, MHR (2 holes)

079538830 - Battery Tray for GT, GTS, SD & S2 (185mm x 125mm with rectangle cut-out)

066038830 - 750 F1 (90mm x 140mm with rectangle cut-out measuring 28mm x 88mm)

All have differing dimensions dependant on the original fitment battery. The F1 item is the only one that isn't readily available.
