Vintage Racing Bike Suggestion

Post by georgeb »

I'm interested in Vintage racing, and was wondering if folks here could give me suggestions for bikes to look for. I'm looking for something mid-price range, that is not going to take a lot of work to get it up to speed so to speak. Something that I could still get parts for, and something that could be competitive in its class? Any suggestions?

I have a 1970 R60/5, and am thinking about trying to find a beat up R75/5, but would rather run an old Ducati. The BMW's are really heavy, and don't have much power.

Sorry for late reply.
I think Ducati singles and twins are good choices for vintage racing because they are fairly well equipped and fast even stock, and pretty reliable too.
There are a number of guys in AHRMA who race BMW twins too, but they're not my cup of tea.
Don't know where you're located, but go to: ww.vintagemoto.comor http://www.ahrma.org for more ideas.
