Re: Goldline brake Callipers
Andrew, I', no expert but when I came to restore a 1979 900 Replica with goldlines I was advised against re-anodising as the porosity of the casting would make this difficult to achieve a even colour, I used Camcoat here in the UK for a specilaist coating which is brake fluid resistant and Peter the...

Re: Thread size and direction (left hand/right hand) for Duc
Thanks Steve, happy to check the postage costs to me here in the UK and order those if it looks sensible on the web site, that may spur me on to order a pair of upper and lower chain swingarm protector kits that I have been contemplating too.

Thread size and direction (left hand/right hand) for Ducati
Afternoon, 1979 Ducati 900 Replica - handlebars (stock) - anyone know from experience what size the threads are for the mirror mounts and which hand they are (left or right) - I've found a supplier of little aluminium blanking plugs in black to neaten them up but don't have the information to hand o...

Re: 750GT Rolling Basket Challange
Really enjoying your photo story on the rebuild here in the UK, and learning whilst I am at it. I finished a 900 Replica this summer (project management really, I don't have the skills that you do) but am recognising lots of similar parts and similar issues (such as the problems with the rear hub). ...

Re: Dave P's 900ss Shed find project.
Wow, fantastic - many congratulations. :-D :-D :-D My 900 Replica had the front cylinder seized in place - we soaked in diesel and other material - tried heat but eventually had to admit defeat and cut it off (arghhhhh). :( :( :( Fingers crossed you can shift yours....I recall there is a gap in the ...

Found it in the wet clutch section...
I took a look at my Ducati Tuning book by Stephen Eke. He maintains that the 450SCR clutch springs won't work on left-hand gearshift models because they have revised clutch baskets with longer springs. He says that using elliptically ground steel plates are sufficient to cure any slipping problems....

Re: Request for advice reference slipping clutch
I'm about to strip number 146 (1979 Ducati 900 Replica) having now successfully completed the Manx Grand Prix Closed Roads Parade Lap on the Isle of Man on Saturday 24th August. I've bought a Sureflex Kit and intend to fit that. I did 8 laps on open roads in preparation for the Parade and the bike p...

Re: Request for assistance - Dellorto 40mm on Ducati 900 Rep
Hi, I have had a second manifold rubber fail on the front head, of course with the weight of the carb on it and the angle of the manifold it is where the most problematic location sits I guess. I suspect that the replacement manifold gaskets may not be quite as good as originals - but having said th...

Re: Request for advice reference slipping clutch
Hi Craig, Great advice as ever, thanks. Having been running in on Chatsworth Silkolene Straight 40 changed at c250 mile intervals. I was going to go synthetic but a few folks mentioned clutch slip so I think I may stick with what I have been using. As the clutch slip is occasional and can be avoided...

Number 148 for sale....
Evening All, Some Forum Members may know I have just completed the restoration of number 146, Ducati 900 Replica 1979. Imagine how much of a coincidence that number 148 has just come up for sale on ebay. From the photos she looks very original and untouched, though I guess the fairing has had the &q...

Update - sorted....running in nicely
Evening All, I guess I'm going to do more of this as I run her in, learning the hard way....well it turned out to be restorer error. I must have over tightened the manifold nuts to the head as the rubber manifold gasket failed, splitting around the perimeter and baring the steel insert - so, air lea...

Hi Craig,
I don't have that manual - it looks helpful - quick question - where best to get hold of one?
Ebay? Amazon? or the Dellorto distributor in the UK in Reading?
