Re: Another dreaded regulator/rectifier question
Took some time to find, but here's your answer, Andy ... Regolatore.jpg Explanation: G = giallo = yellow = alternator x2 + B = battery positive L= luce oppure spia = idiot light C = chiave = ignition switch It's also possible to work it out from the F1 wiring diagram .. but it ain't easy  P.s...

Re: Ducati Engine Serial Number Search
Hi Brian, A few thoughts, FWIW: 1. My starting point would be the information available in the published reference books, notably in Ian Falloon's various works (Ian being one of the few people who has actually looked at the original records, such as they are ...). 2. The data on Robert Miller's reg...

Many - most? - tires these days don't have a dot, Richard. As per Gardner, just balance carefully after fitting.

Re: 81MHR idle and run issues: slide wear?!
1. See the narrative below for how to replace the HT leads in the coil. Alternatively, you might try to buy a second-hand one. They were used on (for example) the contemporary Suzuki GS400 models (I think the larger capacity GS models used a similar but twin output coil). Couple on ebay at the mo' ....

Another thought ...
You say you checked the pick-up wiring for continuity. Have you done the same for the cables between the Bosch boxes and the coils?
And don't forget to check the ground connections!

Re: 81MHR idle and run issues: slide wear?!
1. If it really IS intermittent firing that you’re getting, then your suspicions should trend towards ignition. Carb problems tend to exhibit themselves as ‘constant’ problems - classically, a refusal to idle. 2. I can’t comment on your diagnostic technique for slide wear - I don’t know whether it w...

Re: Ball Bearing Blocked Idle Jet Airway
Regarding float height, the needles have a spring to decrease vibrations hammering the needles. I've read the "sit the carb on the side and measure 18mm. But is this without depressing the spring? I assume I will get the needle to seat, then lay the carb horizontal and adjust the level so the ...

Re: Clutch Grabs Violently on Fresh Engine
Well, it's basically the springs that control the clutch engagement, so that's where I'd look. Also, you say you've fitted a competition clutch (why?), and that probably explains things a bit too. If you gave it more revs, it probably wouldn't stall. But it will send you down your driveway like a bu...

Re: Ball Bearing Blocked Idle Jet Airway
Hi and welcome to the Forum - I see this is your first post. 1. Flooding. Change the needle valves - I see 'valves' in the plural 'cos you might just as well do the one in the other carb at the same time. They operate under very light pressure and modern fuels are unkind to the tips. Result: the val...

Re: Can't get the rear Brembo master cylinder to prime
Initially the front piston was smooth but now it feels rough. <snip> At least I have working front brakes but I don't like the feel of the lever at all. Ok, you need to be clearer. Is it the PISTON that feels rough, or is it the LEVER? If the later, have you greased the pivot point where the lever ...

Re: Can't get the rear Brembo master cylinder to prime
... and I can't get the rear cylinder to prime with fluid. Not quite sure what you mean when you say 'prime'. I mean, normally all you have to do is to fill the reservoir, then action the lever so that fluid passes via the transfer port into the master cylinder and then down the line (with the disp...

Re: Primary gear alignment.
Andy, my advice would be to DEFINITELY change the gear return spring, regardless of what it looks like. Just make sure you get one from a reliable supplier (preferably a better supplier than the one Ducati used ...
)
And me, I'd change the sprag as well
