I thought about anodizing the hubs, didn't know about the darkening though. Sure would save a lot of work.
I don't think I could do it my borranis though, well, borrani really, I'm pretty sure the front is beyond help.

Ok, thanks wdietz, that makes it easy then. You don't happen to know of any way of keeping the freshly bead blasted alloy looking fresh do you?
I don't want to go too overboard but the longer I can keep the corrosion away the better.

Disappointing for sure, interesting that in all that time it's never given you any trouble.
Even more interested to see if you can detect any difference when you get it back together, tuning, seat of the pants, etc.

76 750ss wheel hub finish
Can anyone tell me what is polished besides the wheel rim & centre of the hub? It might seem a bit tedious but my wheels are in such bad state that it's hard to tell.
Photos included for interest, I'm pretty happy with the way they've come up so far.

Re: GTS starter system weak areas?
The excessive current draw could possibly be from the resistance of the cheap jumper leads, those things are usually crap with bad connections and cable that's to small.

Hi my names Richard, I'm from Australia and I'm in the process of buying a '76 750ss wreck for restoration. The bike is in pretty bad shape and has sat for over 20 years, alot of parts broken, some missing, so a lot to do.....
