SSD colour
As I am currently restoring a 1980 SSD which is black and gold in the SSD style I am told that a few of these came out of Italy in this colour.
As all the books state and most people believe, the SSD was meant to only come out in the blue, but I spotted a magazine cover from an old

Re: Whaletale repair
Thanks for the tips , yes my mounting points have worn and will need attention. My cracks are about 130mm behind the shock scallops, very close to the rear mount holes which will also need strengthening. My problem is getting the
finish right on the outside as the cracks[both sides] are clearly ...

Whaletale repair
As the PO used the whaletale instead of the grab rail to put the bike onto the centre stand, it has cracks on both
sides half way along , my question is this crack a common thing to happen to the whaletail seat base.
I am going to try a repair and strengthen it up a bit as well, I hope to match the ...

SSD rear intake/inlet manifiold
Is there a different intake manifold available for the rear cylinder instead of the curved one that makes the air filter hit
on the sidecover. My mate has one on his 76 SS that comes nearly straight out and I want one. I have searched
on the www and the closest ones I have found that looks ...

Re: Cheap as ducatis ???
Cannot get the link to work, so just type in globalfreeclassifiedads.com ,as for it being real, I think some ads are
legit, the site site owners just seem to let "anything goes" on it and only react when someone complains to them,
I did read somewhere about the scams on the site with pets for sale ...

158 people read this ,not one comment. am I the only one that thinks most of the bikes on that site are scams,
or the only one not caring about being politicly incorrect, by commenting about it.

Thanks all for replies,
managed to find one in excellent condition with bonus original indicators still attached,
was not cheap but still worth every bit of my time and dollars spent tracking it down.

Re: SSD Indicator support
Had a look at the SS bracket, doesn't look like it will fit correctly as the bracket angle is different to the Darmah assembly.
May have to look at your suggestion Colin, and fix up my old one . The cracks are formed from the mounting holes where
it bolts to the rear guard, is this a common thing ...

Re: SSD Indicator support
Thanks Colin and Craig for the reply. The P/O drilled
some holes in the sides under where the original support was, to mount the non original indicators, I will start looking for
a Darmah taillight assembly. Will weld the old one up as it is cracked as well, and may have to re-use it until I can ...

Was the rear indicator support a one off for the ssd darmah, all the spare parts book pictures I can find show this part as being

Re: 900 SSD Colour Codes - Post Here
I know the SSD,s were meant to have come out in the one colour , but in the Ian Falloon book
standard catalog of Ducati motorcycles 1946-2005 pages 112-113 there are two pictures of SSD,s
one a 1978,must be late 78, and the other 1980. These look like two different colours of the ssd blue.
