Re: 73 Sport headlight & sidecover question
Thanks for the quick replies about the headlight holes. How about the light switch? I see it is further back (33.8). Is it about 35mm down from the nearest indicator hole? And what holds the light switch in place? Some stamped brackets and rivets?

73 Sport headlight & sidecover question
The headlight shell on my 73 Sport doesn't have all the holes for indicator lights (they were in the fairing). I'm removing the fairing and need to drill these holes in the shell. Can someone measure how far the holes are from TDC? And how far back from the seam? The flatted hole for the light ...

Rebuild seat for 74 Sport
I'm working on the seat for my 74 Sport. I have the old seat frame and a new fibreglass upholstery hinged pan, but need the hinge (McMaster) and latch hardware (I'll fab this) was lost years ago. Can someone post some photos of their seat tilted up to show the latch and hinge? Also, it seems like ...

Re: modern petrol in fibeglass tanks???
I had my '73 Sport glass tank coated 2 years ago and it's holding up fine. I had it done by a guy that does Ducati warranty tank work all the time and he media-blasted the inside with a snorkel blaster first. He also added some yellow dye because he said that otherwise it was too clear to verify ...

Re: Buchanan Excel rims, spokes
My only experience with Buchanan was with the original Borrani rims on my 74 Sport. Both were pitted, and the front was pitted so deep that when a friend metalsmith attempted to polish them she just dug a few holes and then quit. Buchanan did a fantastic job straightening and polishing, well worth ...

Re: 750GT Fiberglass tank filler neck
I had my Sport tank sealed by Bare Bones Chopper near Chicago. Andrew Jones 708.826.5343. Make sure the petcock threads are clean, I ran a tap through mine. I think he puts lubed screws up through the petcock holes to protect the threads.

Re: 750GT Fiberglass tank filler neck
I had my 73 Sport tank resealed by a shop that builds custom bikes and tanks, and they seal all their custom tanks. They said they media-blasted inside, inspected with a borescope then applied 2 coats of Caswell. They did not remove the filler neck but assured me that neck and fuel taps were coated ...

Re: Advice Required on Fitting New Taper Roller Head Bearing
I am also fitting new head bearings on my 73 Sport and will use the hot/cold method. We often use a heat lamp for the inner races. I did notice a fair amount of paint overspray in the bore of the steering head so I cleaned that up a bit. I then noticed that the bore is out-of-round by about .07mm ...

I received a Veglia-copy speedo-drive from MDIATALIA that works fine. Nice to know how much you're breaking the law. Many thanks to DM860SS_90003* for the link.

Wow! Thanks, and no apology needed. I was told by a DomiRacer fellow that I'd never find one. I'm so glad I found this group.

Need speedo drive for 74 750 GT
I'm searching for a speedometer drive assembly for a '74 750 Sport. I lost mine accidentally in a parts swap several years ago and have a spacer in its place. Anyone have a spare or know where I might find one? The speedo is a Veglia 141.
Hope someone can help. Thanks
