For trade- Dellorto 40mm AD, smooth body, 74SS

Not too likely, but I have 3 Dell'Orto 40mm AD carburetors, and 1 AS, if anyone has a spare AS and needs an AD, I'd like to do a trade.
This is the 'smooth' body carburetor, without the provision for adding the choke, used on the 1974 SS and maybe some later models.
Or, if anyone has an AS for sale ...

Something went wrong over at Photobucket, all the photos I had there are gone, but I still have them. Not any interest from others, so I'll send them to your email address- I should still have your PM. Give me some time though...

I have a 74 Sport, 74 SS, and a Verlicchi 'race' frame- all stripped down, so I should be able to get you what you need- most of the measurements were made from the bare Verlicchi frame, but I think the geometry you're looking for is the same. There is some variation between frames, and forget the ...

I made hundreds of CAD drawings- bevel twins and singles, give me some time to dig through backup discs and I should have what you need. I can't find a way to add an attachment to a message here, so need to go through a longer process to add an image.
There were at least 2 different fork offsets ...

modern fuse blocks are so reliable and easy to troubleshoot, I'd install a new one while you mess around trying to get the old, corroded fuse block working again. Most autoparts stores will have them, or here's a web site:

I've spent way too ...

From the Falloon '750 Bible'-
"All 1973 Sports had a Scarab single front disc brake, with the master cylinder incorporating a clear plastic reservoir, and most calipers carrying a DUCATI designation."
I think the second disc/caliper was an option on a Sport, but I'm not certain.
I expect most people ...

Kev,
Thanks. I took a picture of my 74SS battery tray- the next time you have your battery out would you compare the two to see if they look the same? It's about 6 1/8"x3 3/4", or 155mm x 95mm. I expect them to be the same and I can copy this one for my Sport.
Thanks again, Rick

I sent you a couple if pictures, 1 of my steel Sport tank and the other of my fiberglass SS tank. Not sure what you have, but the fiberglass tank has a steel sleeve bonded into it, with the stamped/pressed cap base attached to it- I'd expect it was bonded on. The cap base looks the same on the steel ...

it's a constant mesh transmission- needs to have mating gears on both shafts, so 4 on one shaft and 5 on the other won't work

If you don't get a reply from someone with a 900, my 750 headers are 42mm OD, and I think the exhaust nut and mufflers interchange, so there's a pretty good chance that the 900 is also 42mm.

As you're sitting on the bike, if the DM250 is stamped on the left crankcase half(the clutch side), it was built as a 5 speed, if the DM250 is on the right case, it was built as a 4 speed. The shifter box for a 5 speed has an extra peg- you may be able to feel how many clicks you have, but that ...

Within a 'family' of frames, they're all pretty much the same- so, the narrowcase 250 frames are about the same except for welded tabs to attach toolboxes, rearsets, etc. The widecase frames are similar with the exception of the 450R/T frame, and the stiffening ribs welded onto some of the frames ...

1974 Sport battery tray

I have a 1974 Sport ex-race bike that had the battery tray removed, but I can't find a picture of a Sport with the right side cover off- I'm not sure if the battery sits with the long dimension along the frame or across the frame. I've owned Gts that had the battery sitting across the frame and I ...

Want to trade or buy engine

A string of back problems(currently a fractured vertebra) is forcing me to rethink if I should be kickstarting motorcycles- I'd like to find a Mille engine to replace the roundcase in my VEETWO Alchemy frame. I have a couple of spare roundcase engines plus a couple of basket case- but complete ...
