Re: My GT engine being rebuilt
p.s. I've been looking at the Colombres Rally website - I might give it a go in 2025 too. Whereabouts are you located, UK?

Re: My GT engine being rebuilt
The very best of luck to you in getting back in the saddle. I too fitted the hydraulic clutch conversion to my GT before my recent 2,600 mile trip round Europe, it transforms day-to-day riding of the bike.

Persistent leak from rocker cover
I've tried most things in an attempt to fix this - multiple gaskets, liquid gasket, wet & dry on a surface plate. The leak continues, only a few drops overnight but I'd like to fix it.
The photos below are after a run on the bike, one with a UV torch.

Thanks Steve, it certainly was!
p.s. The trip wouldn't have happened without the hydraulic clutch conversion I bought from you so thanks for that.

Re: 50th Birthday Ducati - Call out to Euro Bevelheads
Thanks! I'd been through the bike pretty thoroughly before we set off. All I had to do on the journey was replace a headlight bulb, adjust the chain a couple of times and change the oil in Zürich which was about half way.
It started first kick 90% of the time and used less than 500ml of oil over the ...

Re: 50th Birthday Ducati - Call out to Euro Bevelheads
My brother and I covered 2,482 miles in total with the only problem being one blown headlight bulb, we also had a total of 10 minutes of (light) rain on the whole trip. Some photos below including one with the Ducati Museum Curator, Livio Lodi who kindly showed us round.

Re: Mick Walker
His brother Rick was a great help to me in the early 80s when I first got my GT750. He had a minted one squirreled away in his garage - reckoned it was the best bevel drive available (no bias at all!).

If you feel you really MUST use a straight 50 weight oil (and even if you don't ... :) )
Contact Peter Clark at Ducati Montpellier. Peter is the chef d'atelier there. He's a Kiwi, so speaks a form of English ... ;) He also knows a thing or two about our old lumps (he used to work at Motoddd ...

50th Birthday Ducati - Call out to Euro Bevelheads
I couldn't find anywhere else in the forums to put this so...
Next year my Ducati will be 50 years old...

It's been with me for 40 of those years and I'm planning to ride it back to the factory to mark the occasion.

Re: Clutch slip
I know you do Steve, I've bought parts from you before. It's just annoying how UK (probably all) customs gouge you for money for nothing!

Re: Clutch slip
Great but sadly UK customs will add at least 20% to that, have you considered a European outlet based in my garage??
