Wanted: Darmah 2nd gen non whale tail seat

I have a nice 78 Darmah and I love riding it......except for that terribly uncomfortable whale tail seat. Original and stock 1981 500SL Pantah

I am offering up for sale or trade my VERY nice and original stock 500 Pantah. It is a 1981 model and I have a clean title in my name. It has 18k kilometers on the clock. The only non stock items on the bike are rubber items like tires, fuel lines, belts, etc. Any other item that needed replacement ...

Re: parting darmah heads

The penny method worked extremely well on both of my heads. copper is even softer than brass or aluminum. Technically the only "real" method to tighten the nut is to use the official ducati camshaft locking tool. Most Ducati special tools are pretty hard to come by, so other methods are so...

Re: parting darmah heads

Here is a little trick that I picked up somewhere for tightening the nut. Wedge a penny in the teeth of the cam gear. As you tighten the nut, the penny will be drawn in and not allowing the gears to turn. Since the copper is so soft the penny just gets mangled and causes no damage to the teeth. I th...

Re: Unscrupulous Darmah Seller

Which number is being used for the VIN? I am here in Illinois and my early Darmah uses the engine number as the VIN on the title. Other states might use the engine number as well. When I bought the bike, I almost did not buy it because the title did not match the frame number. After a thorough searc...

did you ever get a paint code for the red? I am going to be painting my 78 Darmah soon and a paint code would be very helpful. Under normal circumstances I would just try to match the original paint, but the original owner painted over the stock red paint job.
