Thanks for pointing that out. I almost left one out with the set.

Like I said, the serial numbers and case numbers are suspect, but I do have them apart. Two sets of gears for each transmission. One shaft has 4 gears, the other shaft has 5 gears. I just want to make sure they are 5 speeds.

How can you tell a 4 speed from a 5 speed?

Ive got a couple 250cc motors and a 350cc motor that are disassembled and would like to know how to tell if its a 4 speed or 5 speed tranny? Serial numbers are suspect, so dont want to rely on that. At least one of the motors came out of a scrambler frame (1966?). Thanks

Shoot Toby, if I knew you were after it, I wouldve let you have it.

Tell you what, how about a straight trade for that MV Augusta. Oh hell, I'll throw in the Capriolo too.

Please identify this bevel head scrambler

I just picked this bike up but the serial number is questionable (94474) which matches the frame but also matches 2 other motors that came with the bike with the SAME numbers! The motor in the frame is a DM350 while the two "spare" motors are 250's. All the stampings look original????

Yep you sure did. Got them the other day and they are better than in the pics. Should work just fine on my 350. Im slowly buying missing parts. Just got a set of stainless engine bolts, still need a set of front engine mounts for it.

I just realized Steve didnt post the beautifully restored Laverda above. Nice bike MacDesmo!
