Hi wags,
Had the same problem a while ago and it turned out to be fuel, too old. Bike has been sitting for a few months doing nothing, fuel goes off. Everything else was 100% but it kept rejecting spark plugs. Change for an old one and she starts!
My advise: drain all fuel, including carbs, and ...

Just plotting on this discussion, my Darmah has stock PHF32 AS/AD with 122 mains, 60 Idlers etc etc.
I had a closer look today and where as the rear carb has a 75 Cold Start jet, the front one does have none at all! There is damage to the housing inside and someone blocked off the hole with resins ...

Cylinder head oil channels
Hi, I took my Darmah cylinder heads off to fix some oil leaks and valve shimming. I noticed that the front cylinder to barrel connection has 1 small and 1 bigger bush between barrel and head, that's where the o-rings sit.
The rear/standing cylinder has 2 big bushes but nothing in the smaller oil ...

Good as new
Thanks for all responses! Forgot who's idea it was but indeed got the good old honer out, extended it and using lots of kerosene slowly worked my way down to the dented area. Grind a bit, fit the leg in, grind a bit more etc After half an hour or so the leg just fitted in again with out to much ...

Dented fork housing Darmah SD
Finally got around to take the forks apart because the whole front was bouncing. After having the legs out noticed that one was working spontaneously, the other only wanted to go down so far and did not like coming up.

plug and gaps
Colin,
Looking at the list of types and plugs in your message, the question also is what gap to use.
I mean, my Darmah is a 900 SD (and ofcourse 864 cc). I currently have the W7BC plugs in with a 6 mm gap and everything seems fine. Should the gap be 8 mm?
Or am I missing something?
Willem

Great stuff
Great pics, Marcus.
Big learning curve (for most of us I reckon) so can't help at this stage.
Good luck

sprocket choice on Darmah SD
I am getting my Darmah SD 1981 ready and just fitted new sprockets and chain. The bike came with a 16 and 38 but reading up on the subject Steve mentioned somewhere never to go for even/even or uneven/uneven. I also have a 39 and fitted that with the 16.
After tensioning the chain, it is still ...

Another Darmah changed hands
Hi again, I already registered a few weeks ago and soaked up all information available. This is a great site for bevels.
I just bought a Darmah SD 1981, Engine 901886DM860, framenumber DM860SS901855.
Does that make sense?
I think it does but reading all numbers and years in Ian Falloon's book I got ...

compression Darmah SD 1981
Hi,
Compression test shows : front cyl 165 psi, rear cyl 163.
Is this a good compression?
Not too much difference between front and rear cylinder?
Anyone?
Thanks
Willemd
