Steve already posted the paint code information for my newly restored 750GT, but also request I include some pictures.
The paint color was tweaked slightly by the painter, Jason Small, who matched it against an original fender that was kindly loaned to me. Originally, Ducati used an orange lacquer ...

Using Brembo P108 for Scarab caliper
Steve-
I bought the P108 listed as a replacement for the Scarab caliper for my 1973 750GT. It bolts up fine but the Scarab caliper had the attachment for the hose at the top, but the Brembo has it on the side. Ah..am I suppose to rig some kind of special fitting to use this?

Previous suggestion didn't work too well
The Hybond solution did not work in the long term. After a month or so, the bond failed at the joint between the new rubber bits and the metal instrument.
I ended up making some threaded metal standoffs and epoxying them to the instruments where the old rubber standoffs attached. Then I put a ...

Extra white wire
I'm working on a 1973 750GT and came across the same question. Here's what I've worked out. Note: This only applies to my bike! As we know, no two seem to be the same.
1. There is a two-wire harness with one black wire and the other...dark green?...dark blue? These go from the terminals marked "1 ...

Krylon makes an interior/exterior spray paint in "Dover White, #3555" that appears to be an exact color match for the off-white Aprilia fuse box cover used with early 750 engines. So if you are restoring a bike and have to ...

Rebonding the instrument standoffs
I found a product that works great for repairing the two rubber standoffs that mount each of the Vegalia instruments. It is "Hybond 80 plus", which is a contact adhesive for gluing metal to rubber. It cost ~$10 per quart (the smallest quantity I could buy) and you'll need about two drops per ...

Internal Tommaselli part
I'm restoring the Tommaselli Daytona throtle on my 1973 750GT. There is a knurled screw coming up from the bottom of the body that is used for adjusting drag on the throtle. Inside the throtle body where the screw comes through, there is a recess about 1cmx2cm and 3mm deep. I assume there is suppose ...

Original style air filters for 750GT
The parts manual show a FIAMM FL6179 air filter, which cross references to a FRAM CA656PL. That filter is round, but the air filter housings are oval (actually, "lozenge") shaped. A carefully study of the parts book shows a round air filter on the front and a fitted filter in the back, even though ...

Rubber mounts for instruments
I'm having the same problem. It isn't the rubber gasket around the instruments, it is the two (per instrument) rubber standoffs that mount the instrument to the metal bracket. They are about 1/4" diameters and about 7/16" long with bonded screws on each end. The rubber has long ago given up the ...

Removing odometer from 750GT dash
I want to refinish the dash on a 1973 750GT. The odometer has a shaft with knurled knob (for resetting the trip odometer) sticking through a small hole in the dash. I obviously have to remove it to work on the plastic dash but can't see how. I thought maybe the know unscrews from the shaft but haven ...

Where do 750 GT airfilter housings mount?
I've found a pair of original airfilter housings for my 1973 750GT. One mounts on a tube welled on the bottom of the top tube, as shown in the parts catalog. Does anyone know where the rear housing mounts? I don't find a similar lug there. The parts catalog doesn't really give any hints and none of ...

Plating on exposed metal parts?
Does anyone know what kind of plating or finish was used on mundane parts such as the larger metal axle spacers, coil brackets or the exposed end of the axles? After 33 years, those parts on my 73 750GT are a dull gray but a little while with a buffer made them shine. I'm sure they aren't chrome ...

Removing steering stem
I'm redoing a '73 750GT. The steering stem tube (steel) is afixed to the lower triple clamps (aluminum). I can't see how to remove it. At the bottom where it protrudes through the triple clamp, the tube is deeply notched with a square cut. Was this meant to take a tool for tightening the stem into ...
