Re: Clipon fasteners for '79 MHR?

I have the part # you noted https://store.bevelheaven.com/Fasteners-Kits/Nut-6mm-Flanged/ but I'd use a locknut and washer on each end...... I have some yellow nylock nuts, not cheap... https://store.bevelheaven.com/Fasteners-Kits/Nylock-Nut-Yellow-M6/ or standard white nylocks https://store.bevelhe...

Re: 73 Sport Carb help

Ok also check that the exhaust nuts are tight (check when cold only) and also the intake manifold insulators are tight and not cracked. Next time you start the bike once warm spray just a quick bit of carb cleaner around them so see if the RPMs increase which would confirm time to replace as they ar...

Re: 73 Sport Carb help

Assuming you have checked valve adjust is right, timing is right I would think carbs need rebuild and properly syncronized.

Re: Ducati 750 Gt - ID Data

So, you are upset about what someone's 750 GT has been titled as? Specifically, what year it has been titled as? Keep in mind many bikes didn't get sold by the Berliners the year they were manufactured, and sat.... I have been told that they would call them the next year's model and sell them ...

Re: 860gt best spark plug? Champions anyone?

I'd stuck with the normal heat range (the 7) and see how she goes and only put a step hotter if you have a fouling issue and can't solve it from it's source. Ethanol makes motors run hotter anyways so... not a great idea to keep it going hotter. The iridiums are outstanding, long lasting, big fatty ...

Re: 860 GT Sticky Clutch

Hi Kara, since you just buttoned up your motor after doing a rebuild you don't need to check that the clutch basket main nut is tight..... wait, did you only do the top end and not split the cases? If so go ahead and pull the cover, pull the clutch basket, check that the huge nut is tight and clean ...

Re: '78 darmah sd - what's this noise?

normal slop in the system without the cover in place. Also there should be a small shim on each so you don't wear through the cover.

Re: '78 darmah sd - what's this noise?

0400.47.040 M20 nut that holds the clutch basket on. It seems that a common thing to happen is that it loosens up....

clutch cover has to be removed, all the clutch plates removed then you can check that it's tight.

Re: '78 darmah sd - what's this noise?

I would:

check the oil
check sprocket locknut for tightness
check main nut holding clutch basket for tightness

Re: '78 darmah sd - what's this noise?

Tough to tell but definitely something is not right - Check the EASY stuff first. -> Check your oil level.. Are you very low on oil? exhaust leak? Check tightness of exhaust nuts. valve adjustment? Check You can get a stethoscope with a long rod at the end, and set up against the motor various place...
