Might help to give some more details such as:

- motor rebuilt or not?
- carbs rebuilt or not?
- bosch pickup wires changed out or any other electronics changed?
- power to the coils?
- spark?

Could be something very simple or something bigger.........................

stick a #250 into it. All Ducati that came with PHF carbs had a #250 float needle valve

get some 7/16" ID AN type washers and space the Conti brackets out a bit. Or you can make up round spacers between a quarter and 3/8" long and use those like what came on 900SS....

Those have been cut for whatever reason, maybe you dad just thought they would look cool like that, who knows. When you put the rear axle back on, do know that there are 3 identical then 1 of them is slightly less tall - put a straight edge across the top of them as sitting in the photo and you will...
