Re: Fuel weeping

Hmmm. The plot thickens. I have now found a couple of images of the underside of the replacement caps. They look sufficiently different to mine to make me question whether the seal is indeed pressing down on the tank lip.
I think I'll be buying a new cap.....

Re: Fuel weeping

Hi Steve, very similar problem (1983 MHR (S2 frame)). When I fill the tank (just below the prescribed limit) petrol pours all over the tank as soon as I shut the cap. It's like its syphoning out. If I open the cap, it stops. Close the cap, petrol starts pouring down the outside of the tank and onto ...

Re: 83 MHR Tank Capacity

Hi Steve. I suspect the pump was waaay out of calibration. I approached the supplier (BP) but they were not interested. I approached the service station staff, who gave me a refund!
I have filled it again since (elsewhere) and got a sensible uplift.
The petrol taps are both new - sourced from your ...

83 MHR Tank Capacity

Hi all, according to my receipt I have just put 18.94 litres of petrol in my tank. Researching the interweb this would appear to be more than it could hold, and I wasn't even on reserve. Has anyone ever actually measured the tank capacity? Most web sites say its around 18.2 litres.

WANTED Side Stand for 83 MHR (S2 Frame)

Hi all, looking for a side stand for my MHR. Looks like its a S2 framed one. If anyone has one I'm happy to pay a reasonable amount. Ship to NZ please.
Does anyone know if these are common with all S2s or SDs or anything else?
Cheers!

Can you please get the search function working? There's too much info to go through it all. Currently 25 users online and it says it can't cope! Thanks Steve. Mike

Newby in NZ

Hi all, I've just joined this group. I am in Auckland NZ and have a 1983 MHR. I also own a 1988 750F1, a 2011 848Evo and currently a 2003 ST4S (up for sale).
Thanks in advance for the support I'm getting and I hope I can contribute in the future.
Mike
