Re: Wiring Trispark regulator on 750 GT

Not much help from Trispark, this was their response, at least I now know that the alternator is called a split phase winding with a centre tap! The charge control light is not an issue for me as it will be handled by a Monsoon charge indicator LED. Hello Charles, Thanks for your email. Your bike ha...

Re: Wiring Trispark regulator on 750 GT

I’ve sent an email to Tri Spark with your copy of the wiring diagrams, so interested to see what response I get

Cheers Charles

Re: Wiring Trispark regulator on 750 GT

Thanks for reply Craig……..

Looking at the diagrams it seems as if on the original regulator, the connector to the red wire is simply a pass through to the + terminal of the battery and doesn’t actually do anything within the regulator itself. As you say, worth a conversation with TRi Spark

Re: brembo and lockheed

I would suggest that the easiest way to remove the “ horrid wooden” braking from a 1970s disc equipped bike would be to use a 13mm mastercylinder. This is what works on both Nortons and BMWs from that era.

Re: FAQ - Exhaust Nut Thread Repair

For readers in the UK, Nigel Lacey ( who specialises in Ducati singles) will do this repair on all Ducatis, my 750 had been repaired badly in a previous life and looks good now.

Wiring Trispark regulator on 750 GT

I have a 750 GT with a new 200w three wire alternator (2x yellow, 1x red). I want to use a Trispark MOSFET regulator, Trispark say that I should ignore the red wire from the alternator and just connect the 2 yellow wires to the regulator. What is the purpose of the red wire? I see it being connected...

Vee Two camshafts.

Has anyone got any experience of fitting these Vee Two camshafts? https://store.bevelheaven.com/Vee-Two/Camshaft-Set-Non-Desmo-Performance-Street-Roundcase/ What they are like in the real world and whether or not they might be better fitted with S higher compression pistons? I’m off to Australia in ...

Re: Odd Darmah Clutch Cable Setup

It’s a bit difficult to see from your photos, but Pulleys are often used on clutch cables to give you extra leverage on the clutch and will substantially reduce the pressure you need to operate the clutch, the downside is that clutch adjustment is a tad more sensitive. These are often used on airhea...

Shock length GT750

What is the stock shock length on a 73/74 GT? Should it be just a tad under 13”. Any advantages in changing it?

Re: Fork stop repair

On a 750 GT should there be any “ Bumpers” on the fork stops? Mine has a some made up of fuel tubing, bike is apart at the moment so can’t see if they are required to protect the tank?

Re: No shims on swinging arm

Thanks guys, that very useful information I’ll see if I can measure what the clearance is before I order some shims.

No shims on swinging arm

I have just removed the swinging arm from my 73/74 GT. There were no shims fitted, what clearance should I be aiming for and are the shims split between each side or are they fitted to one side only The swinging arm pin came out with a bit of persuasion from a suitably sized spark plug socket and a ...
