Project Complete - 73 750GT
Hi All Time to share progress on the project .. finally done This Bike was basically the wreck you in the pic. Most of the important small parts are missing, and most of what was there was abused or damaged. Sad to think it had such a hard life .. but anyway I got the 'joy' of the rebuild. Lots of q...

Re: Scarab Caliper pads to disk problem
Hi Steve Yep, I think I will …. Still don’t look right. I had an idea that that caliper might be a better fit for the 229mm rear disk found on an SS. Here a before and after for the bike… just need to paint tank and side covers … but looking pretty good at the mo. Cheers and thx for the info. Peter ...

Scarab Caliper pads to disk problem
Hi all, I’ve been slowly rebuilding a 73 Ducati 750 Gt. The problem is this… I have a Scarab brake system up front ; Master cylinder, disk and caliper.. all been made good like new.. However when you look down the back of the caliper to where the pads are visible, you can see that the top 5mm of the...

Aprilia switch back plate dimensions
Hi all,
My early 73 750Gt has a plate mounted to the brake mount.
On that plate is screwed the Aprilia LH indicator switch.
I’m missing that plate and probably going to make one out of stainless.
Can anyone provide with some dimensions to help make one please.
Many thanks
Peter S

Re: To Split a case or not to split a case…?
Hi All just to round out this topic. Brook Henry (V2) is just down the road .. sort of .. I visited and left him with the cases. So he is doing a complete VeeTwo big end and rods and rebuilding the box, sorting the lower bevels and then putting it all together. A likeable sort of guy is Brook. Cheer...

Cheers all

Oil Pump - Improved Performance
Hi All, What is the difference with those improved oil pumps we see on the net. Are there any improvements possible to the existing pump? Ive also read of improving oil return gallery's and openings ... is there a standard approach here to improve oil back to the sump and over the gearbox. Or is all...

Re: To Split a case or not to split a case…?
Thanks Craig, You’re doing a good job of making me worry. The bearings in the outer cases bevels etc .. seemed to be in average to poor condition. Because it has been standing for a long time, some the oils have hardened an a couple of those bearing were stuck , due to ‘standing still disease’, not ...

To Split a case or not to split a case…?
Hi all I’m in the throws of replacing all the bearings in my basket case 750gt. The motor has been sitting for a long time (unknown) Virtually all bearings are to be replaced for bevels, clutch basket Wt etc. But I’m hesitant to split the cases as the crank rolls well and there is no play there. Is ...

Removing spokes from front hub - 750 Gt
Hi all Just cut the spokes out of my wheels. The rims are shot. The spokes came out of the rear hub easy enough, but front are a different story. Front spokes are dead straight and a good length is held in the hub. Now, mine are stuck in there. Very hard to remove. I’ve hit them with hammer , but no...

73 Ducati 750 gt - Stem on Marzocchi Triple clamps
Hi all I’ve removed the stem from the bottom triple clamp as the threads on this stem are shot. It easy enough to turn up a new one and press it back. I need a photo or diagram of an original to see what it looks like at the top triple clamp end of the stem. Mine is threaded from the top, all the wa...

Re: Ducati 750 Gt - ID Data
Hi Steve Good to hear from you… I guess I’m coming from another point of view, I have a 1973 Lambo in resto and the car classic / vintage car fraternity are serious about this kind of detail. In all cases a vehicle is described by its MY (manufacture Year). The year sold or registered for the road i...
