It looks like you have to press out from the top and in from the bottom. There is actually a metal O ring on the bottom of the stem that acts as a stop on installation...from the bottom. Hope this helps someone.

Steering stem removal, Marzoochi forks, 860 GT
Hello All, I have some 38mm Marzocchi triple clamps I need to remove the steering stem from. I understand it is pressed in, but from the top or the bottom? Which way do I press to remove? Any other advice?

Hello Steve,
Not sure about the transmission. I'm kind of hesitant to dive in that deep yet! I will get there eventually. I'm going to try and make it roll first for convenience.
