Re: Pantah 500 Carbies
Hi Ducadini, Thanks for the reply, No, so I dismantled, cleaned (gummed up) and rebuilt -this is the part that makes me nervous, me rebuilding. :| Worn parts - pump diaphragm, gaskets, lever choke assembly, all the rubber washers, banjo filter etc I'll pass your suggestions onto the mechanic and duc...

Re: Pantah 500 Carbies
Hi Craig in France, Thanks mate, your rationale about keeping the carbs makes perfect sense. They are with a mechanic now, who has checked the floats - which are fine (I'm reassured), jets are new. I've got pods on the carbies and have been running a set since the 90's with no problems. I'm in Melbo...

Pantah 500 Carbies
Hello brains trust, the original Dell'Orto PFH 36 AD & AS carbies are playing up big time on my Pantah 500SL. I have cleaned them and replaced obviously worn parts and rebuilt them. I am considering replacing them as the plug keep getting fouled after 10-15 mins of riding. I have had two mechani...

Right hand switch block for a Pantah
Starting to sounds like a scratched record. I've purchased a Domino 9A series right hand switch block. This beast has 6 wires and the old Pantah has 3 (4 that become 3). I've wired it up, just I've got 2 wires (from my ignorant point of view) that are redundant, or don't seem to be required??? Has a...

I've got next week off so will pull it off then make a decision about the unit or reburb kit.
Cheers mate.

Re: Pantah Starter Motor - All advise considered.
Thanks Steve, I've had a good look. It is very hard to tell. Are there any distinguishing features or dimensions I should be looking for?
I get the feeling I'm going to have to pull it off first?

Re: G'day from Sydney
Hi Ashley, no I haven’t heard of that. Have ridden an Enfield, never felt comfortable with the rhs shift.
On another note, I’m down in Melbourne. When it comes to parts other than Gowanloch, Motociclo and beltandbevel (sorry Steve), are you dealing with anyone else locally?
Cheers Alistair

Pantah Starter Motor - All advise considered.
1980 Pantah 500 SL My Pantah's starter motor squeals like a banshee when I push the starter button. A previous mechanic drilled a hole in the casing so a small amount of grease can be squirted in to remedy the noise. This works for awhile, but the noise soon returns and I don't really like the idea ...

Left Hand Switch Block
I've purchased a Tommaselli L hand switch block for my Pantah. This switch block has a locator pin which would require me to drill a small hole in the clip-ons or grind the pin off. my current switch block doesn't have a locator pin (and I've never had a problem with the block moving) so I thinking ...

Re: Dellorto PHF 36's Accelerator Pumps won't spray
Even today that post is still relevant. I had exactly the same problem. pull the carbs apart again, no blockages. As @BevHev Steve suggests, stuck my finger down and pushed the cylinder pumpy thing until petrol squirted out the acceleration jet. Bingo, I have created life!!! Legend. -?- -?- -?- I th...

G'day from Melbourne
Hi Folks, Just joined today. I've got a cantankerous 40yo Pantah 500SL which has no respect for my emotional well being. I am in the process of cleaning and rebuilding the carbs and getting her back on the road. Thanks to the instruction pdfs available on this site I have felt brave enough to attemp...
