Re: 750 Gt alternator wiring

Had a look at the regulator instructions available as free downloads. Nice clear instructions - problem sorted! Thanks Steve!

750 Gt alternator wiring

I have a standard 750 GT alternator (or so I think). It has three terminals - 2 with brown wires coming off them and 1 red one. The bike is fitted with a replacement regulator which only has 2 wires connected to the alternator - is this right? How can this work?

Regards,
Rob

Re: 1974 750GT Down Under

Hi Tom,

Sorry for the slow response, I've been working some crazy hours lately and no time to deal with the important things in life - like Ducatis!

The engine work has been done partly by myself (the basic stuff), but I had the crank built by a friend (who's no longer doing them) and the head ...

Re: Neutral switch paradox

Further to the Neutral switch question, I'm now left to wonder what the warning light labelled "N" was actually connected to on the dash when there was no neutral switch? There were several dash panel types on 1974 750 GTs it would appear, one engraved, one with the 860 style decal, but both with ...

Re: Neutral switch paradox

Thanks for the reply. So it’s just a non functional warning light to fill a hole in the panel!

Neutral switch paradox

I have a puzzle for the team:

I have a late 1974 750 GT which came fitted (from new) with an early 860 style instrument cluster (5 warning lights and a toggle "City" "Country" toggle switch for the horn).

There's a warning light for "Neutral"......but no neutral light switch on the gearbox! What's ...

1974 750GT Down Under

Greetings all,

I have a feeling I might have joined the Forum and posted questions a few years back when I first bought my '74 750 GT?......if not, here I go again (and my apologies for any repetition).

I bought the bike from a guy in Wisconsin, as a fully restored machine (sight unseen, given ...
