hi ,can anybody post pictures of the fairing brackets for the lower fairing on a 1985/86 mhr ,these brackets attach to the front of the frame.

lumpy did you have a problem before putting the gear gazer on,i would say
not as you could not see what was going on.
i have just recently finished rebuilding my engine with a new oil pump
and it does the same thing you have described ,dont be to concerned as
the oil system works more on volume flow ...

Has anybody purchased or come across imitation dellorto carbys made in China or India ,if so what are the the tell tale issues .

sorry to say you need a sump filter for a mille engine or you can modify the end of your squarecase filter to suit your engine,this is what i had to do as mille sump filters are not so easy to come by.
the engine in your bike is in a year when changes were taking place from wet clutch to dry clutch ...

on the rear cylinder head are three locating dowels,the smallest dowel has a pin hole at one end and larger hole at other,my question is does the pin hole face up towards camshaft or down towards crankcase,and why.

grover the glitch in the 86.4 rings is the size of the oil ring it is a oddball
size,the first and second rings are same size as used in car engines
i think toyota was the name tossed about by my engine guy,he too searched
for other options than ducati.

try gowanlochs in sydney,i purchased a set from them a few months ago
the size you are after and original ducati,but be warned they come and go
and i had to wait until they restocked.

for what it is worth ,i am just about finished putting my s2 engine back
together after a total strip down,its done 74,000 kms has not got air filters
and previous owner rode it very hard,bike had regular oil changes.
took crank to gowanlochs to be inspected and fearing the worst $1100
needs new ...

martin buy a cam locking tool off ebay,put tool in vise and fit head onto tool
and remove nut with suitable socket or spanner,bearing in mind it is a left
hand thread on camshaft,i carried out the same operation 2 weeks ago
and can tell you the nut was extremely tight to crack

hi martin,recently purchased a new clutch cover,had to remove and repair pickup/ wiring from old cover and put into new cover,then took down to
gowanlochs he reset pickup positon for a reasonable price

jordan thanks for the pictures,i did look at the tool at the website you provided,looking at your pictures made my decision simple,i will use my
universal tool to grip bearing but not washer ,turn cover over find the needed
drifts and sleeves and press it out on my workshop press.
heating the cover ...

with the aid of a friend holding the cover,question i would ask you when you
are removing bearing do you seat tool under the washer that seats against
the bearing and remove with the bearing or do you only remove bearing and ...

hi to all,trying to remove bearing from clutch cover ,this is a crankshaft
support bearing,is retained by circlip and has washer on other side,have appropiate blind bearing removal tool ,bearing does not feel like moving
is this a common problem,am i missing something obvious,am not too keen on ...
