Re: 76 860 crossover shaft problems, still...
Thanks for the input guys. Unfortunately the 860 has been buried for quite a while, not getting more accessible anytime soon. There are a couple bikes ahead of it on the priority list, hoping to get back to it in a few months. I'm sure I'll be back on this thread with questions - and hopefully ...

Accidentally posted this in the wrong forum...
alright, this issue has kept this bike off the road for 10 years - quite a shame..
Years ago, I had the bike getting stuck in gear. Took the selector box to Desomto in SF, and they replaced some springs and shimmed the box.
Finally re-installed it ...

WTB: Running, or close to, NC 250 motor
Kind of a long shot, but it's going to be awhile before i can rebuild my Monza 250 motor...
In the meantime, I'm hoping to find a NC 250 motor that runs or could be made to run fairly easily. I'd like to get this bike running to work on other aspects of it while i save up $$ and look for the parts ...

Re: Engine Repair Stand
I built a work stand for my 250nc motor out of Unistrut & associated hardware. Pretty straightforward, a bit of cutting and grinding, but all bolts together. Super solid and easy to move around. Plus, easy to convert to other motors.
I'll post some pics when I get home and upload photos.
Cheers ...

Re: Weight reduction ideas for an 860?
I'm setting up to make some carbon fiber parts for 80's - 90's ducs. A sick part of me wants to make a set of CF bodywork for my 860. Tank would be totally ridiculous, but seat pan and side covers would be cool / stupid / ridiculous / whatever you want to call it...

WTB: Dellorto PHF 32 slider or whole carb
hi all.
Was doing the last bit of work on rebuilding my 860's carbs, slider wasn't sliding well, so i cleaned it up a bit. Was finishing it off with buffer, caught an edge and slider hit the floor hard, completely deforming it. Grrr.
Anyway, in need of a new slider! Mine is stamped 70/2. I'll ...

Sorry, didn't see the other post discussing this.
Still find it interesting that there are several in San Francisco area being parted out. May have to check in and see what they have...

Re: What's up with all the bevel's being "broken" on eBay?
Yeah, kinda sad though. I realize 860s are relative "unloved" and parts worth more than the bike whole, but its a bummer to see. ALMOST makes me want to part my 860 out if i can't get around to fixing it, but that is the last thing I'll do...

Re: eBay: Aprilia 19888 headlamp bucket
My apologies, I didn't thoroughly review the international shipping rates. I have changed it to USPS Priority Mail International Medium Flat Rate Box, which should be much more reasonable for international buyers.
Thanks
Tom

What's up with all the bevel's being "broken" on eBay?
Interesting that there are and have been several bevels being "broken" on ebay - a few 860's, Dharma, etc., several in or around San Francisco. Not really looking for an answer as to why, unless you all want to theorize....
