Hi Wrinklygit, (not that there is anything wrong with that).
Ducati singles are a great bike to own. Fun to ride, easier and cheaper to work on than multies, and a great restoration project.
I am looking for another to restore but boy, are they hard to find.
So, enjoy them while you can. My knees ...

Thanks
Thanks for the comments. The idea was to keep it as stock as posible (as sold in Australia) which is why I stuck to the steel rims etc.
According to the importers and my fading memory, only 27 examples of this model were originally sold in this country. I think lots more may have been privately ...

Final pics of 350 project
At last the '69 350 Mark 3D restoration is finished. Only took 2 years !!
It starts easily (after backing off the timing a bit - ouch) and rides really well.

350 restoration pics
At last some photos to share. I have been slowly restoring my 350 Mark 3D over the last 2 years but have never got around to putting some snaps onto a web page. I thought it would be fun to learn to write html so here it is. Just log onto this URL.

Found a colour match
It turned out simple in the end but it required a lot of searching and experimentation.
A near perfect match to the original red on my 1969 350MK3D is -
5 coats of the Color Horizons Candy Apple Red over a medium silver metallic. Just follow the manufacture's instructions.

350 paint
Unfortunately little progress with colour. I stripped the tank and found it has been cut open 3 times in the past to repair dents (and badly). It had a lot of filler (bog) in it. Obviously the sides must be perfect for the chroming so progress is slow.

rear Marzocchi fluid - help
I am rebuilding the rear alloy bodied Marzocchis for a 1974 750GT. They are very easy to disassemble and reassemble - but, I am having difficulty discovering the damper fluid viscosity and volume. Please, can anyone help. Many thanks.

Oh come on guys :-) More on 350 paint
Oh come on guys I am getting desperate and at your mercy :-) Someone must have discovered the right red for my tank (see below). This is an old post with no replies so far. I emailed the factory about 6 months ago and my request was passed on down the line but have received no help with the colour ...
