Here in the US Moto Guzzi eventually offered a kit to change the 16" wheel to an 18".

16" wheels hold the road wonderfully. They are awfully quick though and if you are used to a large front tire and jump on a Guzzi with a 16", you WILL get surprised.

I bought an '87 SP new with the 16" wheel and ...

Thanks for the suggestions. However, I LOVE the 16" wheels on the Le Mans (and my SP II as well), and the ducktail as well.

I had an email exchange with Bob and this is what he wrote me.

Yes we have stripped and re plated many mufflers.

There are a few tricks that can make this difficult.
The exhaust gas has a corrosive effect on the interior of the pipe and

Thanks for the encouragement, Nick! I think I've found another RT frame, but will over time fix mine.

The Mick Walker book is still in print? Nice, I'll pick it up. I guess that book describes the head mods I need?

Terrific! Thanks, Steve, I will check out their website and give them a call. Fortunately, the area around the part numbers and the name Conti aren't the problem areas.

When I get it done, I will post a report.

450 R/T production numbers?

Does anyone have any idea how many 450 R/Ts Ducati built in '71 and '72? Did they come with lights for the street or were they all offroad only?

Rechroming a muffler?

Can anyone recommend a good shop for rechroming a Conti? My left one is okay, but the right one needs to be rechromed.

Thanks!

'85 Le Mans

This thing is really faster than it should be. It sounds like a stock car. :)

Newbie on here with a 450RT pile.

Hello all,
I've been browsing around Bevel Heaven for a long time but had no reason to join until now. Last year a friend called me up and said he needed room for the old Kawasaki 2 stroke he'd bought and if I wanted it, I could come get the 450 RT pile he had.

I was over like a shot and picked up ...
