What is the correct way one or two seals per leg ?

One or two seals per leg?
Depends on what make or brand seal you use, there are non-leaking seals that only require one seal, replacing the original two seals.....!!
More seals mean more stick-slip or whatever you call it, less seals mean better functioning forks, but again, there should be no leaks....

There should be a dust seal/cap to keep road grime away.
My new Mille came without it, because the factory ran out of them in 1984.... 1985 models had them fitted again...!
Anyway I used the no leak one seal for one season, but was not happy with them, too much stick slip, even more than that with two seals...
Now I have a M1R fork in my Mille, and have no idea how many seals are in it...never touched them so far!

back several years ago, the original size seals were not available so the common thing to do was to put a seal with the correct OD and ID in there from a yamaha dirt bike, commonly available but 10.5mm tall. The originals are 7mm tall by the way. Anyways, I had a seal manuf make the correct size for me so for the past several years I have had these correct sized seals in stock, they fit both cerriani and marzocchi 38mm forks, 2 per leg, mounted the same way with the seal side UP. Of course you put on a wiper above that on the outside.
