Value of a nice 750 GT

Post by jeffz »

I'm looking for a classic Ducati, and don't know too much about the roundcase models. Can anyone tell me what year is the most collectable, and a ballpark range of price I can expect to pay?
TIA

Most collectable by far is a 1974 750SS. I think nice ones have hit six figures recently???

GTs are probably the least collectable, and the most common (funny how that works). Nice ones are going for... I dunno... $8k and up these days?

Sports are in between, nice ones going for high teens, low 20's?

All these prices are subject to change of course. Right now there's a major project 750GT on eBay that's just over $4000 and hasn't hit reserve. I recently rebuilt one in similar shape and have over $10k into it - they aren't cheap to rebuild... and I got the base bike for under a grand.

Buy a few boks, do some research, and decide what model trips your trigger. Then go from there.

Thanks for the reply.
A very nice, but not 100% orig. '75 750 GT just went for $17,400 on Ebay.
I also found old Ducs listed in NADA online. The 750 SS is around $27k, and the 750GT about $6k for exc. cond.
The 900 SD ranged from 1675 to 5650. That sounds low to me. I guess I'll forget a roundcase and look for a nice Darmah.

er,............. 750 SS are in the 60K to 90K USD right now and I know this to be FACT not some database estimate. I sold a couple nice darmahs last year for 7K. Prices are going to continue to climb in all vintage DUCATI [bevel drive] models.

Recently, restored 750 sports have been going for just over USD20k but I see an original condition 1974 with less than 1000 miles that went for USD34k!
