Steve,
I have a 1980 900ss fitted with 32mm carbs at the moment. The manifold stud spacing is 58mm and I would like to change to the 40mm carb setup.
Are the inlet manifolds still available and what other parts would I need for the conversion. I'm coming to Florida on the 14th Jan for a couple of weeks from the UK and would like the parts posted to our rental house.
Alternatively, would it be better to send them to a postal depot nearby.
I know you get lots of junk emails so I thought it would be best to post this in the forum.
Thanks.

you will need to only get new manifolds and different throttle cables when you upgrade [some would not agree with this term] to the PHM40s. I don;t stock the manifolds but can order some for you but I doubt they would arrive to me in time to turn around and post to Florida to arrive by Jan 14....... It would be very close indeed.

Hi Steve,
picked up the carbs on the friday morning from Downtown Fort Myers Postal depot thanks again.
When I got home I had a message about a guy who wanted to sell his ss.
I contacted him and well, to cut a long story short I now own 2 1980 900ss bevels !
Here's the new bike.
I have the side panels and chain guard, the bike has done 21k miles.
He has an older ss that he bought new and has done around 190k miles !

You know, I've always wondered whether the intake ports on Darmah and late 70s early 1980s 900 heads were the same as those on the early 900s that came with 40 dellortos (even though they may share the same stud spacing). If they were narrower, adding 40s to a 32 head would not make as big a difference as you would like. According to Ian Falloon (who should know) the heads on engines that came with 40s are the same as the heads on engines that came with 32s, but had 58mm stud spacing.....Perhaps this was only an issue in my twisted mind totally lacking any basis in fact or reality and shared only by me and myself only, but just thought I throw that out there........
