Running very rich

Post by garryc »

I replaced the needles and seats today in my 32 mm dels on my 78 Darmah.
I replaced the seats with the same size.
Nothing else was touched.
Although do need to replace the enricher plungers as the rubbers look a bit suspect.
It is now running very very rich
Should I have to reset the float level.
Any suggestions would be gratefully received.

Always chech the float height. Just because the float needle valve is the same size (number) as what you took out doesn't mean everything else will be the same about it (overall height etc) plus the old needle was probably worn and had settled down into the seat etc...

So yes, when you change float needle valves check and adjust your float height adjustment to spec
