Rubber in valve cover?

Post by Wally Anderson »

I have a 65 Monza and am wondering if the piece of rubber part # 0400.92 is necessary? It's a piece of rubber in the valve cover, is it necessary and what purpose does it serve?
THANKS ALL!

Hi Wally,

It's for deflecting oil on to the rockers and tappets. And on the grounds that Ign. Taglioni didn't put it here by hazard, I'd venture that it's best left in ... :) ;)

Ciao
