900 GTS, year 1979, only 150 made

Post by restomoto »

Hi,
Can anybody help?. I need some information about 900 GTS, year 1979, only 150 made, some 50 went to USA and the rest 110 to Europe. Do anybody knows the enginenumbers or framenumbers. What were special about these bikes. Are there electric starter in the engine. All information is welcome.
Best regards

I have a '79 900 GTS. Frame number is 855028. To my knowledge, all that were sold in the U.S. were electric start.

Read Ian Falloon "Ducati Twins Restoration Guide Bevel Drive 1971-1985" Page 100-101.
My 1979 lives in Australia. Manufactured 7/79 Frame 855117 and Engine 855201.
What are the standard tyre sizes for standard boroni spoked rims front and rear for 1979 GTS 900? Also what are correct pressures front and rear? tar!!
