Desmo rocker arms - refurbishment

Post by IanWH »

This is a question for UK or, possibly, European forum members.

I'm rebuilding a 'basket-case' 900SS engine and 3 out of 4 of the closing desmo rocker arms' heels have a pitted groove, presumably where the heel bears onto the cam profile - or wouldn't if they had been shimmed properly! (the cam lobes appear to be fine.)

There used to be a company in the US who would regrind the heels' profile and rebuild them with new hard chrome, stellite or whatever. However, I've been advised that the company is no longer doing this work. Bearing in mind that new rockers cost the proverbial arm-and-a leg, does anyone know of a reputable company accessible to the UK who might do this work.

I look forward to hearing from you.

Ciao,

Ian.
