Bosch to Rita conversion

Post by vij »

I heard some people talking about the Lucas Rita system. Some say it i very good. What is the difference and what is the advantage compaired to the standard bosch system? Is it a big job to install it on a MHR 900 1984. Rumers says that Rita production stopped so if it is "so good" maybe I should get a Rita betfore it is impossible.

I think their main advantage was that they are more reliable than the pre bosch ignition systems. They mount on the vertical cylinders bevel gear housing, near the cylinder head. I think with some models there may be some concerns regarding space with the petrol tank. I’m not sure if there would be any great advantage over a bosch system, but I’m sure Steve would know.
