Got a nice surprise in the mail today

Hi All

How often do you buy a bike and you get all the history that goes with it ?
Thats right I got the original dealer import documents, Bill of sale to owner one , bill of sale to owner two and three , including the intransit Permit for 1980 clear titles you name it it is all there , including the original SS owners manual as SD supplement

and some NOS stickers one is for an SD and the other is an SS sticker take a closer look and spot the differences between them , I was unaware that they were different apart from the obvious SS & SD on the sticker

Sure made my day I can tell you , and what a nice gesture from the seller that I bought the bike off. Here's to you Rick...!!!

These are scanned images

hey martin
just looked at some darmah pics-looking at tiger for differences
the obvious easy to see diff between your two pics was-sd-big mouth,ssd-small mouth
i thought this might be a year related issue
i looked at some pics and it seemed to me the above diference was constant
never heard of this before-have you uncovered an easy way to id ssd

ss-sleek and defined

I dont think it was a year related thing but it could have been a different sticker manufacturer , I will have to go through my spare stickers in the morning and see what I have in there , I dont think its a sure way of telling a SSD from a SD

Like your SS the SSD tends to be more refined when compared to the SD

If you know what to look for ,than its simple rounder front guard , rear sets , clip ons , colour , whale tail (painted blue), polished rim lip , six bolt two piece discs , 900SS heads , right side cover cut out (but this became std in 82SD's) head light support (again this became std in 82SD's) , top tipple clamp , 15/36 sprockets

I think that about covers it , I'm sure Craig will find some more to add LOL...
