I am only too pleased to offer any assistance I can,
I cant advise on part numbers, but what I can tell you is that when went through this process with my darmah Electric start only motor (out of a 79-80 model). I was able to get hold of a second hand kick start shaft/setup from an early kick only darmah engine.
From what I was told this went in with nil issue, as I advised prior , the only issue was ensuring I had the correct sidecover and gearselector shaft to suit my engine /peg/linkages at the end.
I have kept all my Electric start gear though as I like the idea of should I ever blow a knee out, I can put an electric start sysem on one of my bevels! It is always tempting to sell the gear, but I believe that its always handy to have some "insurance" - I ride mtn bikes and play field hockey, so theres always a chance of a knee issue!
I would call a specialist re the part number issue(or maybe one of the guys on the forum can help, theres a lot of knowledge out there)

There is already an aluminum spacer that someone made to take up the extra space on my Darmah with the SS primary cover. Seems like this is an easier solution than to replace the longer shaft with a shorter one and it looks pretty good. ...except for having to remove the starter engaging shaft, which requires removing the flywheel. The shaft is too long for the SS primary cover to fit properly. Not as easy of a task as I thought. Also, I wanted to obtain the correct tool to remove the flywheel without risking damage. Still waiting for the factory tool from the U.K. - and quite spendy, too!
