77 - SS900 question , whats one worth ?

Post by MartinMille BANNED »

Dont know if this is the correct section to post this or not

I have the opportunity to buy a 77 SS

It's all original and the cases are still sealed , I can buy it for $18k
I thought that was quite reasonable as this is from a private seller who is in his late 60's and he said starting the beast and riding its is no good for his bones anymore so it will have to go.

What should it be worth ?

U.S. or Continental spec? I would assume non-US if its in your neck of the woods. Seems like a good price if the condition is good. Prices are bound to rise for the squarecases in time.

$18K in the US would be a deal for one is decent shape. If you are going to ride it much, look into the ignition if it hasn't already been changed out. BTW: I was just looking at a 750 GT on eBay that has started bidding at $20K and it has not met reserve. I only mention that because it seems prices are rising on all bevels. I bought my first SS for $4600 - new in 1981 and sold it for $3500 in 1985. In order to buy the same bike now, I am looking at over 15K.
