750 GT trip meter reset shaft

Can this shaft be removed from the instrument without disassembly of the speedo? It is going into a SS dash and won't fit with the shaft in place,

SMITHS pull out, there are 2 different length reset knob lengths available, so pop yours out first to compare so you order the right one.
