750gt characteristics

Well after reworking the head on the lower jug, rebuilt the carbs, fitting a Dyna Ignition, adding modern switchgear I have my dad's old 750 running pretty well. I realise these bikes characteristics are a little different from the two valve 1000ds in my last Multistrada or even more drastically the 1200dvt in my current one. I guess what I'm curious of is what is the most common cruising rpm for this motor and what is a comfortable rev to shift at? From my ear it appears that cruising at 4000+/- 100rpm keeps it where it can pull hills with little effort and shifting at about 5000rpm seems safe. I noticed that starts to sing above 5000 and I love the way it sounds so I was looking to you all to pull from your experience.

Keep it above 4000 to save the bigend AND to keep the battery loading (especially with the lights on)

Thanks! That's what I was hoping to hear.
