Wide or narrow?

Post by duck-a-tye »

Just wondering what's the difference between a wide frame sport and a narrow one?

You asked for it.....the difference is that one is wide, the other's narrow.

Seriously, according to my Ducati Twins Restoration Guide, for 1973 the rear sub-frame was narrowed so the the shock absorbers could be mounted outside the subframe. The new frame required a revised fibreglass fuel tank and a narrower saddle and rear mudguard.

To me, the narrower frame looks a little tidier.

You know I would have been disappointed if you hadn't included the first sentence :-D
