Torque stats.

Post by xpiotos52 »

G'day folks,
I'm sure someone can help me here. '77 750 ss, okay not exactly a roundcase but all I'm chasing is torque settings for the SS.the workshop manual has very minimal stats and does not cover the area I'm working on- rear sprocket-just at the moment, or is there some general settings for bolt and nut sizes that I can refer to ? :?
Appreciate any help. X.

Hey X,
Some general settings for bolt sizes would be:
6mm bolt 0.8-1kg/m (5.78-7.23 ft lbs)
8mm bolt 1.5-2kg/m (10.8-14.5 ft lbs)
10mm bolt 2-2.5kg/m (14.5-18 ft lbs)
Remember that sprocket bolts don't have to be super tight. They just have to stay tight. (mild thread locker)
Hope this helps,
Dean
