flywheel nut, clutch drum nut 36 ftlbs ??? does that sound right ??
altinator nut 86 ftlbs and its a lot smaler than the flywheel nut ???
chain sprocket at 57 ftlbs??

everybody O.K. with these numbers, there from Falloon`s book
and I really do not have anything else to go on.
let me know ASAP

Gerard, The flywheel nut could be right as it is a taper fit and doesn't need a lot of clamping force but the clutch drum should probably be tighter. I would look at the 860 manual and use those figures. The crank taper is the same and I'm pretty sure the clutch shaft is the same too. I know the alternator rotor needs to be tight and 86lb sounds right. I think the clutch drum figure is the same as the alternator.

from Haynes manual:

cylinder head nuts- 24.6-31.1 ft lbs
flywheel nut- 28.9-36.2 ft lbs
crankshaft pinion nut- 50.6-57.9 ft lbs
gearbox sprocket nut- 50.6-57.9 ft lbs
clutch center nut- 28.9-36.2 ft lbs
6 mm screws- 5.78-7.23 ft lbs
8 mm screws- 10.8-14.5 ft lbs
10 mm screws- 14.5-18 ft lbs

surely you cannot be serious bout these torque settings-6-8mm bolts -just nip em up tight

Thse figures would be for steel bolts in steel threads, for steel into old alloy i would use common sense. The only time I stripped threads was with a torque wrench.
