750 Big Bore Project

Post by cafe*racer »

Hi all- after a long absence I am once again tuning my attention to my 750 GT cafe racer project. Decisions have to made as I begin work in earnest on the engine.

Q. Does anyone have experience with big bore conversions for the standard (kickstart, non-desmo, 80mm bore) 750 engine? Any experience boring barrels and cases to accept larger cylinders?

I would like to maximize the inherent potential within the stock 750 without dramatically altering the factory apperance. And unless I win the lotto, will stay with the springer heads. Seem to remember a thread on this topic somewhere but after searching old posts I could not find it.

Tantalizing clues in the Racing section of Falloon's Ducati Bible but not much real help.

Thanks, Jordan
