Hi all, happy to be part of the forum.
I’ve been riding/fixing for 30+ years but almost exclusively modern-ish sports bikes. 90’s & 2000’s vtwins are my sweet spot so have had a few Ducatis over the years, not that I ride them much now but still have a 916SPS and 1098R in the garage. Occasionally race AFM and AHRMA on my RC51.
Anyway, was gifted a barn find 1967(?) Monza(?) 250 that hasn’t run since the late ‘80s. The original owner had a burst of enthusiasm in 1999/2000 and got the seat recovered and new tires put on, and then ran out of patience. He also thought he could refresh the wiring, but then realized he couldn’t after he started cutting everything. Normally I wouldn’t touch this but some reason this cute little bike smiled at me, so I’m starting my very first vintage restoration!
There’s a box full of parts so I think it’s complete (except for the headlight assembly), but to be honest the first major step for me is working out what it is. There seems to be many variants of the same model, so what are the telltale signs to say this is, or isn’t, a 67 Monza?

The squared off fenders would almost certainly make it a late (67-68) Monza.
