Hey from USA

Post by johnmaben »

Hi ,

I've known about Bevel Heaven for a very long time but just registered. I'm here because I've got a '78 900SS I inherited from my brother. I have been riding for 50 years and have several other (mostly project) bikes. 3 Itialian V twins, 2 Nortons, a Buel, and Zero SR. The Zero is my main ride. I'm not into talking about myself right now. I'm hoping to get the SS on the road. I have never ridden it but it doesn't look like much is wrong with it. It's Blue & silver and complete. It's been in storage for a decade or more.

Ciao,

John

If he didnt drain the carbs before putting it away you will have to sort the gummy crap thats now in the idle passages, not so easy.I wish I had inherited one of these.

Hi John, congrats on the SS. After sitting for so long, know that a complete rebuild of carbs and brakes will be in order as well as replacing the intake manifold insulators. I have written up guides on how to accomplish the above plus a bunch of other topics in the following section on my website..

And, I have the seals etc you will need. Welcome aboard.
