Hi Jan Stubbs from SoCal.

Post by Sleezyryd »

Hi all, I am a recent Ducati convert, because of a buying a '93 900SS about 1 year ago. I have been riding 2 wheels since about 1959, when I bought a 1954 Allstate 125 AKA Vespa for $60. Rode the wheels off of that until the flywheel keyway on the crank wore out. Rebuilt that motor several times with new rings purchase at my local Sear store, for $2.30.

Recently added a '05 1000ss DS to the fleet. And then Sunday I was the high bidder on a 860GT on Ebay, which has some issues that I am sure the forum will be helpful on, if I decide to go thru with the sale.

I just wish I had discovered that Ducatis were not the maintenance headache that is their reputation, 30 years sooner. But in the meantime I did enjoy a bunch of bikes, mostly Japanese, listed here. I am leaving out the dirt bikes.

Welcome Jan - I started out on a 1976 Vespa Rally 200. They seem to be a gateway bike into all things Italian.
