Buying a Ducati 860 GT..........

Post by dewjantim »

My name is Dewey Greear and I am a bikeaholic. I have owned almost every major brand of motorcycle and my share of a few rather odd ones also. European bikes and Sportsters are my favorites. I have owned three ducatis so far, 900 CR, Paso, and Allazzura SS (well it said Ducati on the engine anyway). Now I am purchasing a basket case 860 GT. 8) I know this isn't a desmo, but I hope to post here anyway. I don't know a lot about the bevel drives and am here to learn. I imagine this is the place where the duc experts are. Hope you don't mind me bending you ears and stealing a bit of your knowledge to build my dream bevel drive.....Thanks.....Dew

Welcome! Don't worry about the desmo thing. None of the bikes I have that fit here are desmos either... I think you'll find many (most?) bevels aren't.

And what about the singles, Peter?! :)

Ciao

Craig

(For the record: it was only with the Darmah that all Ducatis became desmodromic).
