Bruce,
It does sound like your wife has an aversion to skiing, shame.
I must say it has been a long time since skiing whistler and I havent done it since , I recall the Kelowna area from some MTB trips in there, its nice "frontier feel" from memory.
I agree with your comments on canadien football, the loss of a down does speed things up,and it doesnt matter where your sport is nowdays, the goons and thugs are always present- youre right- its about the ratings me thinks!
I may at some point take you up on the offer of a guide, I have been looking at a return to the great white north for some time. Always good to have local help. The same applies over here, I'd be happy to show you around or provide guidance around the place. I have had a few OS friends turn up and its great to refresh your own perspective of how beautiful the country is. Sometimes we take it for granted just how lucky we are!

Sir Not.... a blabbermouth??? How did they come to that?? Must be a new model???
Although I have seen some posts that tend to confuse me a little, ahh its all in good fun.

We have a darker - satirical sense of humor we Aussies!

Grant

Its a deal then Grant. I definately have to get to Oz where it seems like there is a Ducati on every street corner.

Congrats to sir not. I reckon he's posted 100 a month since he joined the group. What is the classification for 1000 posts which he should hit by July?

Bruce,
Depending on where you live you arent too far from the truth!
Obviously the bevel owners are a little more cautious in displaying wares, but they are certainly around and as for the "new models" well they are plentiful! Ducati has a prescence in OZ.
Mate you would be most welcome here. And Im sure we would get you around in style and amongst fellow euro riding mates. May even get you a spot on the "perfect corner". Which by the way will have new episodes very shortly. The "producer" has been OS a lot recently for work hence the slow down in new productions. I know there is a lot of new footage ready.

We are approaching winter, but seriously its cold but nothing like you get.
Up here in the mtns we are getting into the colder /windy/ drizzly time, but this is indispersed with sunny days perfect for riding from about 10am to 3pm for a few mths.
Mid winter is a little different- Cold / some snow, but a chill in the air. Our temps here between -5 to single figures each day in winter proper.
You can still get some good rides in though in the mid day period.

If you head north of course the weather gets better, but the riding I believe doesnt (thats a personal opinion though, there are still some good riding areas just fewer)

Steve,
The 1000 posts?? Would be a major milestone- let me put the first suggestion out there- IMOLA

Now lets see where this goes.
I think its been great to have a few open discussions, theres a few of us that dont mind chatting away (sometimes making sense????)

Maybe it should be MILLE'

I can;t remember, do I already have that taken on a lower number? If so then more rearranging is in order.

I'm listening.........................

You guys crack me up! Mille sounds good for a thousand posts if its not already taken but at the rate sir not is going 1500 or even 2000 is not out of reach. How about NCR in honour of the racebikes. Imola is also a great idea.

Fired up the Duke last weekend for the first time this year and took it around the block. The neighbours love it, they give me the thumbs up when I go by. At least I think that's what they're doing.

I have to say that Perfect Corner host is a real character. I just got through all the episodes on YouTube. Its a good thing he has subtitles for some of his segments otherwise no-one would understand him. Who is that guy anyway?

Bruce,
That guy is a very good friend of mine called CJ. He is a mad Laverda man, he has a lovely 1980 Jota and is working on an SFC restoration.
He made fantastic contacts in Europe with Piero Laverda and the whole Euro Laverda clan.
He is one of the guys I would send you via should you come to OZ at some point.

Theres a bunch of us that meet and ride together- I guess youve met them sort of via the youtube thing.
Mostly all mad Ducatisti from the "good old days"!! Bevel heads.

Hey Bruce- many Laverdas getting around over there??

Hey Grant,

I've never seen a Laverda in this part of the world. When I lived in western Canada there were a few around. An acquaintance of mine who purchased my Mark 1 Guzzi LeMans still has an SF and I could have bought a new RGS that sat unsold in a dealer's showroom for a couple of years. I still remember seeing a Jota being ridden beside the lake in Zurich, Switzerland. You don't forget these things.

As CJ says in one of his videos, these are bikes for big men. The RGS was too big and heavy for me. I believe it was finally sent to a buyer in the US.
