Mystery screw

Hi All,

In my ongoing resto of my 1975 860GT, I have encountered a screw in the mason jar that I stupidly put nuts and bolts in 30 years ago, which defies my ability to find out where the durned thing goes. Here is a link to the photos: https://www.flickr.com/photos/124760992 ... 140486561/ . It has threads on both ends, many more on one end than the other, a blank unthreaded section in the middle, and has a nylock nut and flat washer on the end with the most threads.

Can anyone help me to identify this item, and where if fits in the bike?

Thanks in advance.

Regards,
Richard

Sounds like a stud of some sort.

Usually found where you would mount something like cylinder head, exhaust, carb etc.

Something not mounted properly or fallen off?

Looked through some old exploded photos in a Haynes manual and the only thing close had to do with the front master cylinder. It wasn't clear from the drawing where in went.

Hi Richard,

It's the excentric adjuster screw from the front brake master cylinder, part no. 0795.39.677. Scan attached.

Ciao
